Arts for Youth
A Summer Multi-Arts Camp for Children 7-12
"Bridgewater State University's summer Arts for Youth program (now held each summer at the Bridgewater-Raynham High School) is a comprehensive arts program that allows children to explore a full range of performance and visual arts. Children take classes with other students of the same age group in subjects such as video, dance, drama, animation, painting, music, creative computing, gymnastics, puppetry, mask making, and general sports. All courses are taught by professional artists/teachers (12:1 student-teacher ratio) and arts education interns. Children are given the opportunity to discover their individual talent as well as to develop artistic skills in an atmosphere of cooperation, collaboration and fun! In addition to core art classes, children choose a new class each day from our roster of 10 different workshops! One of the highlights of our camp is the daily 12:30 Revue, where we feature the talent of our individual campers, as well as present work from our classes that is finished and in need of an audience! On the last day of each three-week session, parents and friends are invited to a celebration called Arts Fest. On this occasion, we display the work from all of our classes, including dramatic presentations, music performances, dance numbers, and a multitude of visual arts projects. Our celebration ends with a dance finale presented by all of the campers, faculty, and staff!"
