Gymnastics & Creative Games

In our Gymnastics classes, students work with a spring board, the balance beam, vault, and a climbing apparatus, in addition to developing a floor routine (with their classmates) that is appropriate to their level of skill.

Arts for Youth is now offering a unique approach to teaching Gymnastics, called “Kidnastics”. Kidnastics is currently being taught at Bridgewater State University, and this particular approach, while introducing and developing traditional gymnastics skills, also fosters in the child a tremendous amount of creativity as he/she invents both individual and collaborative “routines.“ We love this new approach to teaching Gymnastics, as it supports a teaching philosophy that lies at the heart of all Arts for Youth classes.

Creative Games in Action!

For those campers who love to “keep on moving”, this new class will do just that, through a combination of creative games, creative sports activities, and more! This class will focus on team building and fast creative thinking, as campers play games such as Human Worm, Jinx, Fish Bowl, Sling Jam, Family Feud, Sardines, Relay Races, go on Scavenger Hunts – all in the spirit of friendly, FUN competition.

AfY also offers two Sports workshops every day, ranging from traditional summer camp games like kickball and capture the flag to crazy AfY originals and obstacle courses.
