Alyssa Almeida is 16 years old and an incoming junior at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. Alyssa has attended 4 sessions of Arts For Youth and 6 sessions of Arts For Teens in the past, which she loved tremendously! The AFT shows she has performed in include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Aladdin, Once On This Island, The Little Mermaid, Annie, and Peter Pan where she played the part of Peter! At school, Alyssa ran for class president along with participating in the Civics and Mock-Trial clubs. Dance has always been a huge part of Alyssa's life. She has been dancing in a variety of styles for 12 years, and has been engaging in dance competitions for the past 8 years. She is very much looking forward to interning at AFY and helping all the campers to have a fantastic, memorable, summer!
Eliza was born in Providence, Rhode Island and currently resides in Raynham, Massachusetts with her mom, dad, sister, guinea pig, dog, and three cats. She is a senior at Coyle & Cassidy High School. Eliza is an alumnus of both Arts For Youth and Arts For Teens, having attended for four years. She participates in activities such as singing, dancing, acting, and playing the piano and has won multiple music awards for singing and playing the piano. She has also won awards for community service, for winning two science fairs, and for dancing. After Eliza graduates from high school, she currently plans on going to a music college in order to successfully pursue her dreams of being a performer on Broadway and owning her own performing arts studio. She would like to play the roll of Glinda from "Wicked".
Jenna is very excited to be working for Arts for Youth this Summer! Jenna is 19 years old and will be entering her sophomore year at Rhode Island College, where she studies music education. Jenna has been involved with music all her life, and she is a dedicated saxophonist, vocalist, and pianist. She has been in various bands and choirs, and also enjoys performing as a soloist on all three instruments. Jenna is also involved in drama and dance, and she has performed in many plays, musicals, and dance productions. This is Jenna’s first year with AFY, and she can’t wait to get started!
Liz is 18 years old and will be starting her freshman year at Bryant University in the fall where she will study accounting. She attended Arts For Teens for three summers and this will be her third summer working at AfY. Within the Arts for Teens program, Liz participated in Anything Goes, The Music Man, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. In her spare time she enjoys running track, playing and coaching lacrosse and spending time with friends and family. She's looking forward returning to AfY again this summer!
Jim Moriarty is a 17-year-old incoming senior at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. Jim attended Arts for Youth as a camper for 10 years, and became an intern in the summer of 2014. He plays guitar, runs 3 seasons of track, and has recently become an Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 88 in Bridgewater. His favorite color is blue, he enjoys long walks on the beach, and although he hasn't done it in years, he still tells people that he can do a Rubik’s Cube whilst hopping on a pogo stick. Jim is looking forward to returning to AFY this summer!
Kira is seventeen years old from Middleboro and is soon to be a senior at Sacred Heart High School in Kingston. She attended Arts for Teens for two summers and was seen in the shows Once on this Island, The Little Mermaid, and Annie. She has also been in a countless number of plays and musicals outside of AfT, and has been named a member of the Massachusetts All-Star Cast. At school, Kira is an active member of the drama club, speech team, varsity cheerleading and track teams, and a member of both the Spanish and National Honor Societies. She has been singing and playing the piano for ten years. Kira is so excited to be working at Arts for Youth and can't wait to meet all the campers!
Rachel just graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Kingston and will be turning 19 years old this summer. She is looking forward to starting her freshman year this fall at Merrimack College in North Andover majoring in Sociology and being member of the cheerleading squad. Dance, sports and drama have always been a part of her life. She has been dancing tap, jazz and ballet since preschool and was a four year member of her studio’s dance competition team. Throughout high school, Rachel was a member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) and played varsity volleyball, basketball cheerleading and softball. She enjoys crafts and working with young children. Rachel has been a part of the Arts for Youth/Arts for Teens since she was in first grade. She starred as Jasmine in the Arts for Teens production of Aladdin and loved performing in The Little Mermaid, Once On This Island, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Music Man, Alice in Wonderland, The Wiz and Anything Goes. Rachel is excited to be working her third year at Arts for Youth and looking forward to seeing old campers and meeting new campers!
Maia Hay is an incoming senior at West Bridgewater Middle Senior High School. Maia went to Arts for Youth for six years and Arts for Teens for three years, where she performed in several musicals including "The Music Man", "Thoroughly Modern Millie", and "The Little Mermaid". She belongs to the varsity field hockey team, winter and spring track, drama club, and art club. She has preformed in other shows including “The Pajama Game” (Babe Williams), “The Sound of Music” (Baroness Elsa Schraeder), and “The Wiz” (Scarecrow). Outside of school she belongs to multiple volunteer organizations including HOBY, a 4H junior leader, a student leader for RYLA, and Project 351 alumni. She is looking forward to meeting all of the campers and making their Arts for Youth experience as memorable as her own!
Hannah is a soon-to-be graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School and will most likely be attending Emmanuel College in the fall majoring in Communications with a minor in Peace Studies. Throughout her time as a high schooler, Hannah has nurtured her passion for the arts. She has been an active part of the music, theater, and art departments playing saxophone in the concert band, acting as both cast and crew with Raynwater Players and B-R Drama, and serving as art club president for her junior and senior years and taking as many art classes as her schedule would allow, including AP Studio Art. Hannah attended the program from ages six to fifteen, and last summer, at age sixteen, joined the AFY staff as an intern and says it has greatly effected her multi-artistic experience and passions. She is tremendously excited to be returning for her second AFY summer as an intern and the excellent memories that are bound to come with it!
Dan is a 16 year-old and will be a junior next fall at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School. He attended the Arts for Youth program for a total of 7 years and is excited to get a chance to be back with the program. Dan enjoys improvisational acting and performing in improv shows. He's also trying to launch improv club at his own school. Dan also enjoys playing basketball, baseball and ultimate frisbee. In addition, he also loves the art of lip syncing and enjoys interpretive dancing. Dan is excited to work at Arts for Youth this summer and can't wait to get started!
Shea O'Donovan is 18 years old and going into her senior year at West Bridgewater Middle Senior High School. While in Arts for Teens, Shea performed in shows such as The Wiz, The Music Man, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and many more. Outside of AFY, Shea participates in her school's Varsity Golf, Winter Track, and Softball teams, as well as a traveling Showcase Softball team. She spends her winters working at the Bridgewater Sports Complex, aka "The Dome". Shea has been Irish Step Dancing for 9 years. She also is a member of both National and French Honor Society. After attending Arts for Youth/Teens for ten years herself, Shea is excited to return for her second fun-filled summer as an intern!!
Michaela is thrilled to spend another amazing summer as an intern at Arts for Youth! She is seventeen years old, and will be starting her senior year at Apponequet Regional High School in September. At Apponequet, Michaela is her band’s piccolo and flute player, in addition to being a member of her school’s choir, National Honor Society, and Television Production Club. Outside of Apponequet, she has also found time to further explore music and learn to play the guitar, piano, and ukulele. Michaela has a not-so secret love for ballroom dancing, and has performed all over, from Taunton to North Attleboro to Providence. She’s been dancing since she was six years old, and has not stopped since. Some of her favorite things in the world include Shakespeare, Marvel movies, and hot chocolate. As a former camper at both AFY and AFT, she is looking the most forward to once again hearing how exactly a wacky person is like a palindrome.
