Bring or borrow a guitar and we will get you plucking away like a master! In the guitar class, we will learn introductory techniques, including finger positions for various chords, how to pluck out a melody, and how to sing and play at the same time. Starting with one note at a time, we will build our chords and once mastered, we will move forward together until we have a nice repetoire of guitar chords to strum and fun songs to sing. We will also learn about notation of guitar tablature as we master our guitar chords!

Our music class will be taught by Austin DeAndrade.

On the final class (May 6th), AfY will host a musical showcase! Families and friends will be invited to appreciate all that the kids have learned, listening as the youngsters share their newly-mastered chords, rhythms and songs! As is the AfY tradition, each class will contribute an original composition or two to round out the celebration!
